1879, Christmas Eve in a middle-class house. Nora Helmer, a young bride, is exhausted preparing for the festivities, surrounded by her three children and a thrifty, distant husband. In a succession of lies and threats, the drama unfolds and Nora is confronted with a hollow life that is closing in on her like a toy box.
